NEW YORK - Here in the heart of North America’s most vibrant city, they are setting up a 60-foot high toboggan run on New York’s famed Broadway between 40th and 41st streets as the centrepiece of what is being called Super Bowl Boulevard.

Given the clusters of flurries and squalls that greeted arriving fans and media at La Guardia Airport on Saturday, they won’t be needing any artificial white stuff to have people slide down the man-made mountain on their sleds. There should be enough natural snow to take care of that when the ride opens on Wednesday.

Indeed, when the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks land in the Big Apple area this weekend, they’ll find the type of winter wonderland that isn’t expected to go away by the time the two teams crack helmets at MetLife Stadium next Sunday.
