If the blistered fingers on Wes Welker’s famed hands could talk, you can bet they would already have been asked this week: “What’s the difference between Peyton Manning and Tom Brady?”
It’s a fair enough question, since these particular mitts over the years have had the pleasure of snatching spirals out of the air thrown by both future Hall of Famers. That’s a claim few others, if any, can make.
And with Manning’s Denver Broncos and Brady’s New England Patriots set to clash in the AFC championship game on Sunday here in the Mile High City, Welker and his paws are considered to be experts when it comes to which of these long-time competitors has the upper hand — no pun intended.
“It’s like comparing Picasso and Michelangelo,” Welker replied. “It’s hard to compare the two.”
So, then, who’s better — Picasso or Michelangelo?
