Did the frigid sub-zero Wisconsin temperatures completely numb Jim Harbaugh’s brain when he alleged that Michael Crabtree was the best “catcher” to ever snatch a football out of the air, frozen as it might be?

Yes, coach, you are right on the mark when you claimed the greatest wideout to lace up a set of cleats wore 49ers red and gold.

What he wasn’t wearing, coach, was Crabtree’s No. 15.

Instead, try No. 80.

Jerry Rice’s No. 80.

Michael Crabtree better than Jerry Rice? Not in this lifetime.

To be fair, a giddy Harbaugh likely was suffering from a case of frostbite between the ears when he took to the podium after the 49ers last-second 23-20 victory over the host Green Bay Packers on Sunday at the football icebox known as Lambeau Field.
