NEW ORLEANS - It took 23 minutes into the franchise's sixth Super Bowl before a San Francisco 49ers quarterback finally threw an interception.
Seriously, the first one. Can you believe it?
In Super Bowl XLVII on Sunday night, Colin Kaepernick threw a badly overthrown deep slant to Randy Moss midway through the second quarter at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
Veteran Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed made the easiest interception of his career, as Kaepernick stuck it right in his gut. Reed returned it to the San Francisco 38-yard line, to set up the Ravens' second of three opening-half touchdowns.
Incredibly, neither Joe Montana in four Super Bowls from 1982-90 nor Steve Young in 1995 threw a single interception.
