Here are five observations for the Patriots and their, ah, entourage from one ink-stained wretch who watched them fall to the underdog Baltimore Ravens 28-13 in the AFC championship game on Sunday.
1. Attention Mrs. Welker: Please accept losing with class. Ripping Ray Lewis the way that you did on your Facebook page hardly was the action of someone holding their head high in defeat.
To recap, here’s what you scribbled:
“Proud of my husband and the Pats. By the way, if anyone is bored, please go to Ray Lewis’ Wikipedia page. 6 kids 4 wives. Acquitted for murder. Paid a family off. Yay! What a hall of fame player! A true role model!.”
We won’t bring up the fact that you, Anna Burns Welker, are a former Miss Hooters. Or that your husband dropped a number of catchable balls in the Ravens loss.
But lashing out the way that you did suggests a poor loser.
2. Attention Bill Belichick: You, too, should accept losing with class. If that’s possible.
