FOXBOROUGH - Introducing Haloti Ngata’s “armour of fat.”
To the naked eye — ok, maybe “naked” isn’t the best description here — “armour of fat” refers to the added, uh, beef that the already bulky Ngata put on during the off-season.
Ngata’s goal last spring was to add weight to become stronger and more durable.
He did exactly that, although there were concerns that maybe, just maybe, he had overdone the grazing when he showed up at a June mini-camp lacking the out-of-the-blocks burst that was his trademark.
