Atlanta Falcons' Nolan played key role in building San Francisco 49ers

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – Mike Nolan only has himself to blame if San Francisco’s Frank Gore or Vernon Davis have a big game against his Atlanta Falcons defence on Sunday.

From 2005-07, Nolan was general manager and head coach of the 49ers. That’s when he made the final calls on acquiring the likes of Gore and Davis, who yet remain vital cogs in the Niners’ machine.

After Nolan went 4-12, 7-9 and 5-11 in his first three years in Frisco, he lost the GM title, then was fired as head coach after a 2-5 start in 2008.

Do you think Chad Johnson can still play at a high level in the NFL?
Yes, he is a talented receiver
No, he is too old to play
CFL might be a better option
