49ers plan unwelcome homecoming for Packers QB Aaron Rodgers
Niners out to make dream of playing at Candlestick a playoff nightmare

SAN FRANCISCO - Candlestick Park was a childhood field of dreams for Aaron Rodgers, who would sit in the stands as a kid watching 49ers games while longing to one day be down there playing.

On Saturday, he finally gets his chance to perform at the fabled venue for the first time.

Accommodating hosts that they are, these modern-day 49ers would love to help Rodgers get up close and personal with the same 100 plus-yard patch of natural sod he so adored many years ago.

So close, in fact, that he’ll be tasting the grass.

And have chunks of it sticking in the earhole of his helmet.

And have it stain his lilywhite road jersey so much, it will look like a green home Packers jersey by the time they are done flinging him to the turf.

In the end, the ability of the 49ers to pressure the Green Bay quarterback and bring him down to the turf arguably will be the biggest key in an intriguing NFC divisional round tilt between these two longtime foes on Saturday night.

Do you think Chad Johnson can still play at a high level in the NFL?
Yes, he is a talented receiver
No, he is too old to play
CFL might be a better option
