GREEN BAY - Adrian Peterson can run.

But can he skate?

After gashing the pathetic Packers run defence for 409 yards in just two games, Peterson now takes his act to the alleged frozen tundra of Lambeau Field, where rabid Cheeseheads are quick to tell you the NFL’s rushing champion will have to play more like Tony Granato than Tony Dorsett if he plans to bob and weave through the Green Bay defence in such icy conditions.

At least that’s what they might fool themselves into believing.

Alas, we hate to rain — or, in this case, snow — on the parade of the loyal Lambeau faithful, but their beloved tundra will be far from frozen when their Packers host Peterson’s Vikings in a wild-card grudge match on Saturday evening.

Blame the efficiency of Lambeau’s underground heating system, which includes a network of plastic pipes containing antifreeze that is buried beneath a foot of sand.
