Defensive lineman Israel Idonije spent his first 10 NFL seasons with the Chicago Bears. Now he's with the Detroit Lions.

That's like going from the Habs to the Leafs. And the 6-foot-6, 275-pounder knows exactly what that means, too.

The 32-year-old was born in Lagos, Nigeria, but from age four onward was raised in Brandon, Man. He played his college ball at the University of Manitoba, then was discovered by the NFL.

In jumping from the Bears to the Lions, does Idonije realize he's just done a Habs-to-Leafs style jump within the NFC North?
