First he lost his job, now Chad Johnson has lost his reality show.
A day after being cut by the Miami Dolphins the former Chad OchoCinco’s VH1 show, Ev and Ocho, was scrapped following his arrest for allegedly head-butting wife Evelyn Lozada.
VH1 had reportedly already shot 11 episodes of the show.
Miami’s players also weren’t enthused about Johnson’s release.
Dolphins middle linebacker Karlos Dansby said Monday he was strongly against Johnson’s release.
“It’s going to be a bigger distraction because we let him go,” Dansby told
Ft. Lauderdale’s 640 Sports.
“We’ve been through worse. We’ve seen worse,” Dansby said before adding he didn’t believe the charges were accurate.
“That’s not Chad. If anybody knows Chad, that’s not Chad,” he said.
Johnson had no history of domestic problems.
“The man don’t drink, the man don’t smoke. He may clown around but when it comes to football, he’s all about football. That’s his life. For him to be in this situation, that’s unfortunate. And it’s out of character.”
Johnson’s $925,000 U.S. contract was not guaranteed and according to reports, he was signed in June to a one strike and you’re out deal, though the Dolphins denied that on Monday.
Johnson married Lozada, a star of the awful reality show Basketball Wives, last month.
According to Profootballtalk.com, Jacksonville could be an option for Johnson since offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski spent many years designing his offence around Johnson in Cincinnati and Lee Evans was just cut.
BAD LUCK FOR COLTS
It’s great that Andrew Luck looked awesome in his debut, but Indianapolis still projects to be horrible.
Especially since the Indianapolis Star has revealed middle linebacker Pat Angerer will be sidelined for at least six weeks with a broken foot.
Angerer will undergo surgery.
“When you lose your signal caller, your middle linebacker for an extended period of time, it means a lot,” Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said.
“The guy’s productive, he’s a playmaker, he’s a warrior.”
The club expects Angerer to return for a good chunk of the season.
Linebacker Scott Lutrus is out for the year.
