They lost their starting quarterback, all-pro running back and an overtime game, all in one gloomy Sunday afternoon in The Black Hole.

The Jacksonville Jaguars certainly have had better days.

From a big picture standpoint, the significant injuries suffered by Blaine Gabbert and Maurice Jones-Drew will hurt much more than the heartbreaking 26-23 loss suffered at the hands of the Raiders in Oakland on Sunday.

Jones-Drew was carted to the locker room in the first half with an apparent left foot injury and was on crutches when he joined his teammates on the sidelines after halftime.

Gabbert, meanwhile, appeared to injure his left shoulder but did stay in the game for two more drives. When the second half began, he emerged from the Jags locker room out of uniform.

Missing their two top offensive players, the Jags blew a 14-point lead culminated by Sebastian Janikowski’s game-winning 40-yard field goal. The Raiders were put into position for the winning score when receiver Cecil Shorts fumbled the ball deep in his own territory after making a reception from backup Chad Henne.
