On the underside of the Super Bowl ring, hidden from sight beneath the sparkle of the diamonds and sapphires and gold, a motivational message is etched.

First, the score from the blowout in New Jersey last February is carved — Seattle 43, Denver 8 — followed by the words, simple and to the point, “What’s Next?”

In other words, these Seattle Seahawks believe they are just getting started. One of the youngest teams in the NFL is coming off a five-touchdown win in the title game and sees only upside.

We’ll begin to get an idea of the possibilities here on Thursday night when the famed “12th man” at CenturyLink Field roars its approval as their team faces the Green Bay Packers in a delicious matchup to kick off the 2014 NFL season. And a group with most of its elite playmakers returning and some of them seemingly still on the ascent, promises to be formidable yet again.
