There are times you see a new contract signed and you shake your head and whisper obscenities.

No way is THAT guy worth THAT MUCH.

Yesterday was NOT one of those days.

The player signing the contract yesterday was J.J. Watt of the Houston Texans and nobody should be second guessing this one.

Watt earns his money on the football field and then earns it two times over in his now almost legendary preparation for the season.

First, though, his on- field accomplishments. After being drafted in 2011 with the 11th pick in the first round, Watt has been paying off ever since.

In the last two years alone he has 31 sacks and was named and earns it in the off season devoting himself to the game he plays like few others.

In 2012 he was named the NFL’s defensive player of the year in just his second season in the league.
