New York Jets rookie wide receiver Jalen Saunders had a seizure while driving to the team's practice facility on Aug. 15, coach Rex Ryan said Monday.
Saunders, a fourth-round draft pick, has been cleared to play Thursday's exhibition finale against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Initially, it was reported that Saunders was in a one-car accident. Later, police said he had a "medical event" while driving his car and was not actually involved in a crash.
Saunders, 21, was hospitalized after the incident and released on Aug. 17. He returned to the team Aug. 18 and worked out in the rehab area with team trainers. He resumed practicing on Sunday.
Saunders is listed as the team's No. 1 punt returner.
