The tight end position may not have caught up to its receiving brethren — and probably won’t — but more and more, these players are being split out wide or into the slot to exploit size matchups. For the second time in three years, a TE led the league in receiving TDs as well. This offensive trend is here to stay.

Jimmy Graham, NO

(1215 receiving yards, 16 TDs, 211.5 points)

He’s Drew Brees’ top target and the big dog among tight ends, scoring 56 more points than his closest challenger.

Vernon Davis, SF

(850 receiving yards, 13 TDs, 155 points)

Had the third most receiving touchdowns in the league, but could see less targets this season with Crabtree playing the full campaign.

Julius Thomas, DEN

(788 receiving yards, 12 TDs, 150.8 points)

Came out of nowhere to finish as a top-three fantasy tight end. Should see a drop from his dozen touchdowns, though.
