The Chicago Bears agreed to a contract with veteran wide receiver Santonio Holmes, ESPN reported Saturday.

Chicago is in need of a No. 3 wide receiver with Marquess Wilson out with a fractured clavicle.

The Bears have a starring duo with Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery, but have not been able to find a replacement for the injured Wilson within their roster.

The Bears also have Eric Weems and Josh Morgan. In addition, they signed Greg Herd after Holmes worked out for the team earlier this month.

Holmes, 30, a former Super Bowl MVP, was limited last season while recovering from a foot injury. He made 23 catches for 456 yards with one touchdown in 11 games for the New York Jets. He played in just four games in 2012 before getting injured.

Holmes’ best NFL season came in 2009 with the Pittsburgh Steelers when he had career-highs with 79 catches and 1,248 yards. He was named MVP of Super Bowl XLIII in February 2009.
