PITTSFORD, N.Y. -- The Buffalo Bills announced running back Fred Jackson signed a contract extension. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Jackson, 33, is the oldest running back in the NFL and the Bills fortified the depth chart behind him and C.J. Spiller with the offseason additions of Bryce Brown and Anthony Dixon. However, Jackson has remained productive, including a career-high nine rushing touchdowns last season to go along with 1,277 all-purpose yards - the third-best mark of his career.

While Brown and Dixon are under contract through 2015, Spiller is a pending free agent next offseason.

Since joining the Bills in 2007, the former Coe College start has rushed for 5,121 yards and added another 2,139 receiving yards.
