FOXBORO, Mass. -- The last time Tom Brady wasn't at a New England Patriots training camp, Bill Clinton was U.S. President, Jean Chretien was Canada's Prime Minister and everyone feared the coming Y2K analog-computer meltdown.

The summer of 1999.

Thursday morning on the grass practice fields next to Gillette Stadium, the Patriots held their first training-camp practice of 2014 -- the 15th consecutive one to include Brady.

And there he was, throwing passes as sharply as ever to the delight of thousands of fans who filled the north- and west-side bleachers and viewing areas.

Brady turns 37 next weekend but, like his on-field nemesis Peyton Manning, he appears to be as trim and in as good a shape as any of the 90 players on his team.

How many more years of Brady might we see? As with Manning, probably not many.

Brady sure isn't taking one moment for granted.

Seriously, not a single one.
