Continuity on defence, particularly from a coaching standpoint, has not been the Bills’ strong suit of late.
Jim Schwartz is the fourth different defensive coordinator in the past five years.
Safety Aaron Williams is in his fourth year and on his fourth such coordinator.
Defensive tackle Kyle Williams is in his ninth year. He has only had one more defensive coordinator than Williams but is going into his fifth consecutive year in which the basic defensive scheme has switched from a 3-4 alignment back to a 4-3 alignment.

But first we’ll deal with the ever-changing scheme.
