A one-time Super Bowl champ appears to be in hot water after fleeing Iowa police on a scooter before the incident ended in the former NFLer being tased.
Iowa TV station KCCI on Monday reported that former New York Giants safety Tyler Sash allegedly evaded arrest on a scooter in Oskaloosa, Iowa last Saturday before ditching the scooter and running from cops on foot.
When he attempted to hide behind a tree, that’s where it ended – with Sash being tased while reportedly resisting arrest just before 2 a.m. local time.
Sash, a 6-foot-1, 210-pound safety who attended the University of Iowa, played with the Giants from 2011 to 2013 after being drafted 198th overall out of college.
According to KCCI, police said Sash appeared intoxicated while refusing field sobriety tests over the weekend.
The report goes on to say that Sash admitted to having six drinks in an hour.
After helping the Giants win Super Bowl XLVI in 2012, Sash was released before the start of the 2013 season.
Sash’s attorney told KCCI his client will plead not guilty to charges of public intoxication and interference with official acts.
