In essence, that’s what Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown thinks of the NCAA.

“The NCAA is probably the most reprehensible organization God ever created,” Brown said at a round-table during this weekend’s Pro Football Hall of Fame Fan Fest.

Brown has been a consistent critic of the NCAA, particularly of the financial windfall it receives from its football programs, while players can be fined for accepting so much as a free suit.

“Total exploitation. The kind of money they make, the kind of life they live, it’s embarrassing.”

The comment came in response to a question from a fan about why a player with a career-ending injury in college couldn’t receive a payment to make up for lost future income.

Brown said the NCAA is pretentious when it says it is “doing things for the young people.”
