Not content with six players named Williams, the Buffalo Bills on Friday traded for a seventh -- Tampa Bay wide receiver Mike Williams.

At least it's at a position of vital need.

For a reported sixth-round draft pick, the Bills add a playmaking, if troubled, outside receiver. He's a native Buffalonian.

Two weeks ago Williams was hospitalized after his brother allegedly stabbed him in the leg. He had other off-field issues in Tampa Bay, and late last decade in college, at Syracuse University, he and head coach Doug Marrone -- er, his new head coach on the Bills -- had a testy relationship. Williams left school in mid-season in 2009.

"We feel Mike is a player who has the ability to help our team improve," Marrone said in a statement. "With regard to our time at Syracuse, I feel that is in the past for both of us."

Williams caught 25 touchdown passes in four years with the Bucs.
