ORLANDO - The Buffalo Bills actually did not try to woo Michael Vick.
In a wide-ranging interview Monday at the NFL's annual meeting, Bills general manager Doug Whaley said the team did not "venture" into the fight to land the free-agent quarterback.
Some reports said the Bills had been in the thick of the hunt. Vick signed with the New York Jets on Friday.
On other matters, Whaley said he's "very happy" with the club's free-agent signings, including linebackers Keith Rivers and Brandon Spikes, who were "at the top" of his free-agent wish list. He also explained why he likes Texas A&M receiver Mike Evans, and why the Bills might go with two placekickers in 2014.
