ORLANDO - Perhaps the most impactful proposal the NFL’s 32 teams will mull at their annual meeting this week isn’t even officially up for vote.

Whether to expand the playoff field from to 14 teams from 12 is merely an item on the agenda to be discussed. Nothing more.

A vote may or may not be taken on it this week, we are reliably informed.

Twenty-one other proposals are under official consideration, as the league’s owners, senior executives, GMs and head coaches meet until mid-day Wednesday at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes resort.
