You pronounce Laurent Duvernay-Tardif's first name the French-Canadian way.

With emphasis on the second syllable, and the N and T silent. Sorta like: "Lorr-OH."

But the 23-year-old knows that if he should realize his dream of making an NFL roster by summer's end -- and the chances of that seem to rise by the day -- then most people south of the border are going to anglicize the pronunciation, as in "LORR-ent."

As the highly motivated med student says about many things, he'd be "cool" with that.

An offensive tackle who starred in Canadian football with the McGill Redmen, Duvernay-Tardif appears to have by far the best chance of any Canadian university product to land with an NFL team in 2014. He might even get drafted.

It's early in the season for official pre-draft visits, but QMI Agency learned this week that Duvernay-Tardif already has one visit lined up in April, with the Arizona Cardinals, and a dinner scheduled in Montreal next week with the Buffalo Bills.
