Whether they ever make it to the last game of an NFL season again is one thing. But the Buffalo Bills at least will play in the first NFL game of the 2014 season.

Of the preseason, that is.

The NFL has chosen the Bills and New York Giants to open the preseason schedule in the annual Hall of Fame Game, the league announced Thursday.

The game kicks off at 8 p.m. EST at Fawcett Stadium in Canton, Ohio, on Sunday, August 3. It wraps up Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremonies.

Both teams get to open training camp earlier and play five preseason games apiece, rather than the requisite four.

Former Buffalo Bills receiver Andre Reed and former New York Giants pass rusher Michael Strahan are among the seven new inductees.

Tickets, $54 to $69, already are on sale at ProFootballHOF.com/2014tix or by calling 1-877-464-9526.
