Reputation lasts for a lifetime, even beyond. But fame can be a most fleeting companion.

New York Giants former rookie sensation Steve Smith learned how fleeting stardom can be, and they are lessons he is imparting to his younger brother Malcolm, who will be paraded throught the streets of Seattle as a Super Bowl hero. They are also lessons being learned by the Denver Broncos, who are being paraded through the mean streets of rebuke.

Steve Smith knows how quickly the nights of glory can turn into the morning of the rest of your life.

Smith told his younger brother, Malcolm, to take time to savour the sights, the sounds, the work, and the joy of being in a Super Bowl. “I just told him to enjoy the moment, go out in pregame and take some pictures because you never know when it could end and you may never be back again.”

He should know. As a rookie in 2007, he won the Super Bowl with the Giants. It appeared he would be destined for big money and super things wit
