Former NFL wide receiver Reche Caldwell was one of eight men arrested and charged with running an illegal gambling operation in Tampa, Fla.

Caldwell, 34, is accused of bring one of three operation leaders, all nabbed in the weekend sting by police. Caldwell was released on $4,000 bail on Monday morning.

A second-round draft pick of the Chargers in 2002 (48th overall), Caldwell played with the San Diego Chargers (2002-2005), New England Patriots (2006) and Washington Redskins (2007).

During a six-year career, Caldwell caught 152 passes for 1,851 yards and 11 touchdowns. His brother Andre Caldwell is currently a wide receiver with the Denver Broncos.
