This could be a sort of a pro coming out party for Manti Te’o.

Last year around this time, Te’o was a big news story for all the wrong reasons, sort of football’s version of Lindsay Lohan.

It started in the BCS title game when his Notre Dame Fighting Irish had little fight and were crushed by Alabama.

Then came all that nasty business with Te’o set up in a social media hoax. He believed he had developed a long-distance relationship with a girl and that she later died.

It was all b.s. and Te’o’s personal life was dragged through the mud and back again. It was beyond embarrassing.

Before all this happened, Te’o was a surefire first-round pick. But due to the circus that followed him for a few crazy months, he wasn’t selected until the San Diego Chargers plucked him in the second round.

More drama would follow as a foot injury kept him out of the Chargers lineup until the Bolts’ fourth game of the season.
