INDIANAPOLIS - Starving Marvin Lewis?

You bet.

Let’s see now. On Sunday, when Lewis’ Cincinnati Bengals line up at home against the San Diego Chargers, it will mark his fifth playoff game as the Bengals’ head coach.

So far he has gone 0-4 — and hasn’t really come that close.

So in many ways, this game will be about Lewis, about his ability to prepare his team, gear his team up to the emotional level to where both he and the players can take the next step and break through with a playoff win.

If not this year, than when?

The Bengals of 2013 are by far the best team that he has had in his lengthy tenure — 11 years — in Cincinnati. They have been established a solid seven-point favourite, the biggest spread in the four wild-card games this weekend and for good reason.
