Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers insisted Tuesday that he “really, really likes women.”

The three-time Pro Bowler was asked to address rumours his former roommate, Kevin Lanflisi, was actually his one-time lover.

“I’m not gay,” Rodgers told ESPN Milwaukee, before reiterating his attraction to women. “That’s all I can say about that.”

Multiple gossip sites attempted to connect the dots, kicking off a social media firestorm which led to Rodgers, 30, addressing the reports.

“There’s always going to be silly stuff out there in the media,” he told ESPN.

Readers can decide for themselves exactly how silly the speculation is or isn’t.

First, who is Lanflisi?

“I've got a roommate, a guy I met in town,” Rodgers told Sporting News in 2008 after being asked if he lived with anyone. “He works for the Packers now as an athletic trainer, but he was interning when I met him and we just hit it off. He's been great for me as far as great conversations outside of football. Our friendship goes a lot deeper than what we do.”

Last year, in an interview with Milwaukee Magazine, Rodgers again mentioned Lanflisi, who he has been seen with at numerous off-field events, including the ESPY Awards, according to Hollywood Life.

“Kevin, he’s not a famous person,” Rodgers explained. “I want to see if (famous people) give Kevin the time of day, or if they big-time him.”

Lanflisi has since moved to California, according to the reports, after he and Rodgers had a falling out – something Lanflisi appeared to vent about on Twitter.

"Silence has an expiration date,” Lanflisi posted online, along with a host of similar tweets.

According to The Hollywood Gossip, the two went their separate ways after Rodgers backed out of a plan to publicly come out.

Rodgers was allegedly one of four gay NFLers former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo stated earlier this year were ready to come out.

“There should be professional is professional and personal is personal,” Rodgers said Tuesday. “That’s the way I’m going to keep it.

“You can’t worry too much about it. I don’t.”

The Packers meet the San Francisco 49ers Sunday in an NFC wild card playoff.
