New York Jets owner Woody Johnson might have thrown Rex Ryan a lifeline Sunday. But as many as nine other NFL head coaches might be on the firing line.

People call the day after the last Sunday of the NFL season “Black Monday” for a reason. It’s a dark day for many head coaches, every year.

As for Ryan, immediately after his New York Jets upset the host Miami Dolphins 20-7 to finish the season 8-8 -- when no one thought they’d be anything other than horrific -- Johnson ended all the speculation as to Ryan’s job safety.

“Great end to season," Johnson tweeted. "Looking forward to more success with this guy.”
