Tom Brady’s fashion statement spoke volumes.

Here he was, standing at the podium after his Patriots had dismantled the defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens 41-7 on Sunday during an afternoon in which his team would clinch its fifth consecutive AFC East title.

While most of his teammates were decked out in navy blue “2013 AFC Champions” hats and t-shirts, Brady had on a tie that was covered up by a thick dark sweater.

Asked why he wasn’t sporting his title tee and cap, Brady talked a good game. He always does.

As he conducted his post-game press conference, he claimed the items were stuffed in his carry-on bag that rested on the ground beside him. He said he was going to wear them around the house all week, although you’ve got to figure that his supermodel wife, Giselle, would expect him to dress up a little more than that for Christmas.
