Playing on your TV screens Sunday night: The latest and most important scene yet from Superman Returns.

Starring Cam Newton as the Man of Steel.

You loved him in the 2011 original, mocked him in the lame second-season sequel, but probably find yourself shaking your head in amazement in Year 3, as Newton once again leaps tall buildings -- or at least stacked goal-line defences -- with a single bound.

And how fitting is this? Superman makes his first of two star December turns in the Superdome.

That is, his Carolina Panthers visit the New Orleans Saints in the first of two December showdowns between these NFC South rivals (8:30 p.m. EST, NBC/TSN). Both teams are 9-3, tied for the second best record in the NFC behind the 11-1 Seattle Seahawks.

The rematch takes place Dec. 22 in Charlotte.

Should one team sweep the other, it would be virtually certain to not only win the division but also earn a first-round playoff bye.
