Bad enough for the Kansas City Chiefs that Peyton Manning picked their previously unbeaten defence apart like a turkey vulture on roadkill but, worse, he was able to draw a roadmap for Philip Rivers to do it as well.

“It’s obvious, man,” Kansas City’s free safety, Kendrick Lewis said, analyzing the Chiefs’ 41-38 loss to San Diego. “You’re a man-to-man team, you (beat that with) crossing routes, out routes, pick routes. (San Diego) took whatever they could take from the Denver game, and they executed against us.”
