An Oakland Raiders fan is being hailed as a hero after he broke the fall of an apparent suicide jumper at the Coliseum in Oakland yesterday.

The incident occurred about 15 minutes after the end of the Raiders' loss to the Tennessee Titans, when an unidentified young woman walked up to a tarped off area in the upper deck and jumped 45 feet to the concourse below.

A 61-year-old marine corps veteran from Stockton, Calif., made an attempt to catch her and broke her fall in the process, saving her life.

The woman was knocked unconscious and sent to hospital in critical condition. The Good Samaritan was also hospitalized with  unknown injuries, but is expected to survive.

This comes a week after a man, in a different situation, played a prank by sliding down the upper deck railing in Buffalo, and injuring a man he landed on. The unruly fan has since been banned from Ralph Wilson Stadium and could be facing criminal charges.
