There is something about a New York Giants-Dallas Cowboys game that is special, so rewarding.

After opening the season 0-6 and looking as bad as a team can possibly look, the Giants have found a pulse and after four consecutive wins are right back in the mix in the NFC East as implausible as that may seem.

Leading the division are the 6-5 Philadelphia Eagles who have looked much improved since Nick Foles took over the quarterbacking duties. But in this up-and-down season it’s difficult to count on any team’s continued success — more so in this division.

The Cowboys, at 5-5, are right in the thick of things and with the Eagles enjoying their bye week, could move into a first-place tie with a win.

A loss for the Giants, meanwhile, would be devastating as they have put themselves into a position where they pretty much have to win out, win the division.

A wild-card spot for any team in the NFC East is extremely doubtful.
