Reggie Bush never lived up to the incredible hype he was given after being drafted by New Orleans, but looked solid in Miami.

Now, he’s better than ever in Detroit and credits the system for his success.

Before his stellar game Sunday against Chicago (139 yards on the ground on 18 carries and four catches for 34 yards), Bush was on pace for more catches than he ever had in Miami and more rushing yards than he managed in a season in New Orleans, plus his most receiving yards anywhere.

“It’s because of the system, the way I’m used,” Bush told the NFL Network’s Albert Breer.

Bush likes the balance of Detroit’s offensive play-calling.

“It’s pretty even. When I was in New Orleans, it was more passing. When I was in Miami, it was a lot more running and very little passing. Here’s the best of both worlds for me.”

He is on pace for nearly 500 more yards from scrimmage than his career best total, set in 2011.

Of course, having the great Calvin Johnso
