When members of the 1972 Miami Dolphins see that the Kansas City Chiefs are the only remaining undefeated team in the NFL, their cork fingers must be getting itchy.
Each season, former Dolphins great Larry Csonka and his ex-teammates pop open the bubbly whenever the last of the undefeateds goes down in the NFL. The champagne, of course, is in celebration of the fact that they’ll remain the only team to go through an entire NFL season, including playoffs, without a loss.
Through seven weeks of the 2013 campaign, only the 7-0 Chiefs have an unblemished record. And while first-year Chiefs coach Andy Reid deserves all the credit that is tossed his way for leading Kansas City on this worst-to-first run, does anyone really think a team led by Alex Smith can run the table, including in the post-season?
