Sean Taylor’s longtime girlfriend, Jackie Garcia Haley, recounted the horrifying details of his death in the trial of his accused killer Monday.

The former Washington Redskins safety was shot during a botched robbery at his Miami home on Nov. 27 2007.

On the night of his death, the couple were in bed with their 18-month-old daughter when Taylor heard a noise at 1 a.m. He woke Garcia Haley up and asked her where their machete was.

Taylor then went downstairs.

“He proceeded out toward the bedroom door,” Garcia Haley told jurors, according to the Miami Herald. “I attempted to call 911. I heard a really loud noise, similar to a gunshot. A scream, like an ‘Aaahh.’ I think it was Sean.”

Garcia Haley didn’t witness the shooting. She stayed under the covers and called 911. She eventually emerged from the bedroom and saw Taylor on the ground in a pool of blood and gasping for air.

“I saw him laying on the floor face down. I just saw all this blood,” she said.

She tried to soothe him and stop the bleeding with a towel. When officers arrived, she sprinted out to let them in the gated home.

“I ran outside and screamed for help. I told them someone was dying, to please hurry,” she said.

Paramedics took Taylor to hospital. Before following him there, Garcia Haley went to her mother’s to drop off her daughter and change her blood-soaked clothes.

Taylor, who was shot in the femoral artery, did not survive.

Eric Rivera, the accused triggerman, is on trial for first-degree murder and armed burglary. He is the first of five defendents to go to trial over the incident.
