Things are getting pretty interesting in the Giants backfield. That’s really the only good way to put it.

With David Wilson still out 3-4 more weeks with a neck injury and Da’Rel Scott now on the injury reserve after suffering a major hamstring injury last week, New York went out and signed former Madden cover boy Peyton Hillis.

The move is a bit puzzling considering the lone healthy back the G-Men had was Brandon Jacobs – who is also a power back. Jacobs was also coming off a surprising 106-yard, two-TD performance against the Bears and was flying off the waiver wire. He is listed as questionable this week, but has been practising.

Until Wilson comes back, the job is Jacobs’ to lose while Hillis has minimal value.

- -In other Giants news, the team is shopping receiver Hakeem Nicks ahead of the trade deadline. He has disappointed – along with the rest of the Big Blue offence – so far this season and has failed
