Randall the Handle makes his Week 6 picks:
Steelers (0-5) at N.Y. Jets (3-2)
LINE: N.Y. JETS by 2½
Out of sight, out of mind. In sight, in mind. That’s how this one sets up as the winless Steelers haven’t been seen or heard from in two weeks, since losing to Minnesota across the pond. The Jets are fresh on everyone’s noggin as they pulled off an exciting win in Monday’s featured game at Atlanta. Based on those results and the mental images left by them, the Jets will have the public’s support. They won’t have ours. Firstly, it’s hardly fair that one team has 14 days to prepare for a game while the other has six days. Secondly, Pittsburgh has not forced a turnover on the year. That’s bound to change, especially with a young and error-prone Geno Smith throwing for the Jets. Smith has been dynamic at times, but he’s still thrown more intercepts than touchdowns while being sacked 18 times (2nd most in league).
