Tony Gonzalez returns to the Kansas City Chiefs? It’s the juiciest rumour circulating the NFL this week.

True, the speculation is media sparked and fan driven, but don’t think some of the Chiefs themselves aren’t intrigued by the possibility.

“I’d love to have him back here,” Chiefs cornerback Brandon Flowers, who was Gonzalez’ teammate in 2008, told a Kansas City radio show.

“He definitely taught me how to be a pro in this locker room. He’s just a great guy to have on your team. You can ask anybody that ever played with him. So I would welcome him back with open arms.”

The Chiefs might not have the sexy components of the Broncos, or have the pedigree of the Saints — the NFL’s two other undefeated teams — but they are looking more like legitimate playoff contenders every week. And adding Gonzalez would certainly add a touch of allure.
