The Buffalo Bills searched on the weekend for a veteran NFL quarterback, to compete with undrafted rookie Jeff Tuel while EJ Manuel recovers.

Apparently, they settled on someone who has never completed a pass in a regular-season NFL game.

Multiple reports late Sunday night had Josh Freeman -- the long-time Tampa Bay Buccaneers starter cut free on Thursday -- agreeing to a one-year, $3-million deal with the Minnesota Vikings.

As a result, according to CBSSports’ NFL Insider Jason La Canfora, the Bills were poised to sign Pat White -- their second option, after Freeman, whom they made a late hard push for earlier Sunday night.
