The next time Nate Burleson is in the mood for a pizza slice, perhaps he should try delivery.

Thirty minutes, or free, has to be better than what happened to the Detroit Lions receiver.

Burleson broke his arm in two places early Tuesday morning when he crashed his Yukon into a median while on a pie run.

The accident occurred when Burleson tried to reach over to the passenger side of his vehicle to prevent a box of pizza from sliding off the seat.

Honest. Nobody could make this up.

As a result, the Lions will be without their leading pass receiver who today — instead of preparing for a key weekend encounter with the Bears — is headed for surgery.

The incident came after Burleson had spent the evening watching Monday Night Football with his teammates.
