A football fan died Sunday afternoon after plunging to his death at Candlestick Park in San Francisco.

Right around kick off during the San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers game, a man fell off a pedestrian walkway and died.

Police said the man was in his 30s and was with his brother at the time, according to a report from ABCNews7.com. He suffered serious injuries in the fall that occurred around 1:30 p.m.

Several witnesses told police the man appeared to be intoxicated at the time of the incident. His identity has not been released to the public, as the next of kin has not been notified.

This isn't the first time somebody has fallen to their death while at a professional sports game.

A 30-year-old Atlanta Braves fan fell to his death last month at Turner Field. He plummeted from the upper deck.

As well, a 39-year-old Texas Rangers fan fell 20 feet to her death in July 2011. She was attempting to catch a ball tossed into the stands by then-Rangers star Josh Hamilton.
