Has the NFL seen the last of Tim Tebow? Probably.

Whether you love him or hate him, the NFL’s middling media magnet is unemployed again.

When all NFL teams cut down to 53-man rosters Saturday, the New England Patriots released the polarizing passer.

It was not surprising.

Tebow, signed by New England in late spring after the New York Jets cut him, took third-team reps in the Pats’ pre-season games, but he looked as bad as he ever has in pro football.

It’s weird. As interest in him has skyrocketed over the past two years, his skills -- or at least his effectiveness and football zeitgeist -- have plummeted at equal speed with each front-page sports story.

It is hard to imagine Tebow getting another chance in the NFL. At least as a quarterback.
