New information in the Aaron Hernandez murder case suggests his fiancee, Shayanna Jenkins, may have helped ditch the murder weapon that allegedly killed semi-professional football player Odin Lloyd.

Investigators believe Jenkins made "overt attempts to hide evidence," including potentially disposing of the believed murder weapon -- a .45-calibre Glock handgun -- according to court documents obtained by the Hartford Courant.

The documents, which cite surveillance video, text messages and interviews, claim Hernandez called Jenkins the day after Lloyd's body was discovered so the couple could talk about how to get rid of the gun.

Video footage from June 18 shows Jenkins leaving the home of the ex-New England Patriots tight end with a trash bag holding a "rigid object" that was being stored in the basement.

Jenkins is said to have placed the bag in the trunk of her vehicle before driving away. She returned 35 minutes later without it.

Also, on July 26, investigators searched a Bristol, Conn., storage unit rented in Jenkins' name and paid for on Hernandez's credit card. The search did not result in any seizures.

Hernandez is currently in prison on a first-degree murder charge. Jenkins has not been charged.
