Joe Flacco had a playoff for the ages last year. He showed his critics and a mostly skeptical NFL that he could indeed become an elite quarterback.

The 6-foot-6, 245-pounder led his Baltimore Ravens to a 34-31 defeat of the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII last February.

Flacco threw 11 touchdown passes in four post-season wins, tying Joe Montana and Kurt Warner for the playoff record. And he was never intercepted.

Flacco, 28, has helmed nine post-season victories, tying him with Tom Brady for the most by a quarterback in his first five seasons.

After signing a new six-year, $120.6-million contract in March — $52 million of it guaranteed — Flacco is now the NFL’s third highest-paid player with an annual average salary of $20.1 million.

So, he’s rich and accomplished beyond most NFL quarterbacks’ wildest dreams. What is there left for him to do in the NFL?

Would you believe lead the Ravens to an even better season?
